Turo has introduced a new feature allowing users to search for and book Tesla vehicles equipped with the Full Self-Driving (Supervised) system. The update includes a specific filter in the app to identify these cars, which are now available in the thousands across the platform.
To support this rollout, Turo is offering existing hosts a free one-month trial of the FSD subscription. To qualify, vehicles must feature the latest Tesla AI4 hardware, and the host must have completed at least one prior rental trip. While FSD cannot be listed as a separate paid extra, hosts may adjust their base rental rates.
The company emphasizes that FSD is a Level 2 driver-assistance system, requiring constant driver supervision. Turo encourages hosts to inform guests that they must remain in control of the vehicle at all times and that the system may disengage if cameras are obstructed.
CEO Andre Haddad stated that the integration aims to meet consumer demand for advanced driver-assistance technology. According to Turo research, 55% of Americans are interested in driverless technology, with interest rising to 71% among Generation Z.
