EVgo has launched its inaugural Supercharger station, located at a grocery store parking lot in Chicago. The facility features 12 fast-charging stalls equipped with both NACS and CCS plugs. These units offer a power output of 325 kW, though the company previously indicated plans for up to 500 kW for the rollout.

The site utilizes Magic Dock technology, allowing both Tesla and non-Tesla vehicles to charge without needing an adapter. Tesla drivers can locate the station via their vehicle navigation and Trip Planner, while other users manage sessions through the Tesla app. EVgo owns and brands the stations, while Tesla handles maintenance and operations.

This installation marks the beginning of a broader expansion strategy involving hundreds of additional Supercharger stalls across the United States. Future sites are scheduled to appear at Regency Centers shopping plazas. The project is part of EVgo's effort to expand its addressable market by supporting both Tesla and non-Tesla NACS vehicles.

Separately, EVgo is integrating NACS plugs into its existing fast-charging network, a process initiated in 2025. The company aims to deploy 500 of these specific stalls by the end of 2026. Furthermore, EVgo plans to install at least one NACS plug at every company site constructed in 2023 or later over the next two years.
