Amazon has partnered with Indian automaker Tata Motors to integrate 3,000 electric trucks into its logistics network in India. This deployment represents the largest initiative of its kind in the country, extending Amazon's fleet electrification beyond last-mile delivery to include major freight corridors.

The trucks selected for this rollout are Tata Ultra E.7 models. These 7.5-tonne vehicles feature a 240 kW electric motor and a 96 kWh LFP battery pack. The manufacturer specifies a loaded range of up to 130 km per charge, with support for DC fast-charging to facilitate operations between warehouse facilities.

This initiative aligns with Amazon's broader commitment to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2040. Currently, the company operates more than 15,000 electric vehicles across over 500 cities in India. The new partnership aims to scale electric trucking by covering both intracity routes and national freight corridors.
