President Donald Trump announced plans to establish an AI Force, mirroring the Space Force created during his first term. He also intends to appoint an AI czar, noting that the position is intended for individuals with high intelligence quotients.
On his social network Truth Social, Trump proposed renaming artificial intelligence. He launched a poll for users to choose between the names Superior Intelligence, Extreme Intelligence, or Supreme Intelligence, citing his belief that the current term is inaccurate.
The president characterized concerns regarding AI safety as a hoax. He stated that he intends to support and monitor the growth of the AI industry, while dismissing criticism of data centers and artificial intelligence as politically motivated attacks.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang publicly supported the president's stance, agreeing that the backlash against AI is a hoax. Meanwhile, David Sacks, who previously served as the administration's AI and crypto czar, has transitioned to co-chairing the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.
