Tesla has officially announced a new event scheduled for October 1, where the company will showcase its next-generation Roadster electric supercar. The presentation is set to take place in Waco, Texas, at 20:30 Eastern Time. Tesla has already begun distributing electronic tickets to individuals who have previously placed pre-orders for the vehicle.

Attendees must confirm their participation by September 16, and the invitations are strictly non-transferable. The specific venue for the event remains undisclosed. This upcoming presentation follows a long history of delays, as the Roadster's market launch has been postponed at least nine times since the initial prototype was revealed by Elon Musk in November 2017.

The original specifications for the vehicle included a 0-60 mph acceleration time of under 2 seconds, a top speed exceeding 250 mph, and a 200kWh battery providing a range of 620 miles. Production was initially planned for 2020. The project has faced multiple timeline shifts, with recent estimates for the demonstration moving from April 2026 to August 2026.

Elon Musk has previously stated that the Roadster will incorporate SpaceX technology, potentially enabling the vehicle to perform short flights. Reports indicate that this capability relies on a cold gas thruster system, internally codenamed A71. This system utilizes compressed gas to generate directional thrust without the need for combustion.
