Tesla has updated its official website with a countdown timer set for October 1. The company also posted a message on the X platform with the caption 'Ready, set, go' and an image marked '10.01', suggesting a potential reveal of the next-generation Roadster.

While Tesla has not confirmed specific event details, reports indicate the company may demonstrate a limited-edition version of the vehicle. This variant could feature cold-gas thrusters developed in collaboration with SpaceX, with testing potentially taking place at the SpaceX facility in McGregor, Texas.

The Roadster project has faced significant delays since its initial unveiling on November 16, 2017, in Hawthorne, California. Originally scheduled for delivery in 2020, the electric sports car has been postponed for approximately six years, marking nearly nine years since its first public appearance.

The company has yet to provide an updated timeline for mass production or customer deliveries. Previous reports from The Information in August suggested a potential reveal that did not materialize at that time.

This development follows Tesla's recent launch of Cybercab test rides in Austin, Texas. The Cybercab is a two-seater vehicle without a steering wheel or pedals, which Elon Musk identifies as a key model for the company's autonomous driving strategy.
