Tesla has released a new teaser for the second-generation Roadster, highlighting a continuous LED light strip on the front of the vehicle. The company confirmed that the official unveiling is scheduled for October 2, Beijing time.
The promotional material keeps the car largely in shadow, revealing no details regarding interior design, battery capacity, or final exterior specifications. The teaser focuses on building anticipation ahead of the upcoming launch event.
A key feature discussed by Elon Musk involves the integration of SpaceX-derived cold gas thrusters. Reports suggest that approximately 10 thrusters could be installed in the rear seat area to enhance acceleration and cornering performance through airflow and weight distribution adjustments.
While the thruster concept has been mentioned frequently over the past year, Tesla has not confirmed its production viability. Technical specifications, pricing, and delivery timelines for this specific configuration remain unannounced.
Tesla has reopened the reservation channel for the Roadster after a temporary pause. Customers are required to pay a refundable deposit of $50,000 to secure a pre-order for the vehicle.
