Tesla has scheduled the official reveal of the production version of its second-generation Roadster for October 1 in Waco, Texas. The event marks the end of a multi-year delay for the electric supercar, which was first unveiled as a prototype in 2017. The company is using the slogan 'Go for launch' to promote the upcoming debut.

The production model features a redesigned aerodynamic body. A key technical highlight is the cold gas thruster system, developed in collaboration with SpaceX. This system utilizes high-pressure compressed gas stored in composite tanks to generate instantaneous thrust, drawing on technology from the Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy rocket attitude control nozzles.

Tesla plans to offer two distinct versions of the vehicle. The standard model will be street-legal, featuring a multi-motor all-wheel-drive system, acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in under two seconds, and a range of several hundred miles. The SpaceX package will be a limited-edition model, replacing rear seats with high-pressure tanks and pumps.

The SpaceX-equipped version is designed for extreme performance, capable of sub-one-second acceleration and short-duration hovering by directing thrust downward. Due to high noise and force, these demonstrations will be conducted remotely in secure areas. This version is expected to be non-street-legal, with prices potentially reaching several hundred thousand to millions of dollars.
