Tesla has scheduled a livestream event for its next-generation Roadster on Thursday, October 15, at 7:55 pm Central. This follows a series of delays, as the event was originally planned for October 1 in Texas but was postponed due to weather conditions.

The Roadster was first unveiled in November 2017 with an initial production target of 2020. Since then, the project has faced at least six production delays and seven different unveil dates. As of now, no vehicles have been delivered to customers.

The upcoming demonstration is expected to feature SpaceX cold gas thrusters, with reports suggesting the prototype is remote-operated and not street-legal. The vehicle may also incorporate a new design inspired by the Cybertruck and potential vacuum-based technology.

Original reservations made in 2017 promised a four-seat vehicle with a 620-mile range and a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 1.9 seconds, priced at $200 000. Customers paid deposits ranging from $50 000 to $250 000.
