Tesla has scheduled the unveiling of its next-generation Roadster for October 1 in Waco, Texas. The event will take place near the SpaceX rocket development and testing facility in McGregor.

The Federal Aviation Administration has established a temporary flight restriction (TFR) over the area. The restriction covers a 1.5-nautical-mile radius from the ground up to 10,000 feet, effective from September 18 through October 2.

Tesla has reopened pre-orders for the Roadster, requiring a refundable deposit of $50,000. The vehicle was originally announced in late 2017 and has faced multiple delays in production and delivery.

Elon Musk has stated that the vehicle's performance capabilities require in-person verification to prove they are not AI-generated. The car is expected to feature an optional SpaceX package, which includes cold-gas thrusters.

The thruster system is intended to enable acceleration from zero to 60 mph in under one second. Speculation suggests the vehicle may demonstrate short-distance flight or hovering capabilities during the event.
