Tesla has postponed the demonstration of its second-generation Roadster from October 1 to October 15, 2026. The company stated that the decision was driven by severe weather forecasts in central Texas, where the outdoor event is scheduled to take place.

The company monitored weather conditions alongside local meteorologists before finalizing the reschedule. This delay adds two weeks to the original timeline for the showcase, which was first unveiled as a prototype in November 2017 with initial production targets for 2020.

Despite the shift in the demonstration date, Tesla maintains that the delay is due to the outdoor event format rather than technical issues with the vehicle. The company has not confirmed a new venue, though flight restrictions from the Federal Aviation Administration suggest a location near the SpaceX test site in McGregor, Texas.

Current production guidance for the Roadster remains set for 2027 or 2028, based on statements made by Elon Musk in November 2025. The recent postponement does not affect the vehicle's pricing, specifications, or the broader production schedule.
