Tesla has postponed the demonstration of its next-generation Roadster, originally scheduled for October 1, to October 15. The company cited severe weather conditions in central Texas as the primary reason for the two-week delay.

The event is planned to take place at the SpaceX rocket testing facility in McGregor, Texas. The demonstration involves a remote-controlled vehicle equipped with cold gas thrusters developed by SpaceX, designed to make the car hover.

Meteorological forecasts for the original date indicated a high probability of precipitation, thunderstorms, and significant wind gusts. However, weather models suggest conditions are expected to improve significantly within a few days of the initial date.

The Roadster project has faced numerous delays since its initial prototype unveiling in November 2017. The hover demonstration itself has been rescheduled multiple times throughout 2026, moving from earlier dates in April, August, and October.
