In September 2026, Tesla Model Y secured the top spot in total passenger vehicle sales across five Nordic countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. In Norway, Tesla accounted for one out of every four new vehicles registered. Total registrations for the brand in Norway reached 4,935 units, capturing a 26.3% market share.
Model Y performance in Norway and Sweden remained strong, with 4,810 units registered in Norway and 2,330 units delivered in Sweden during September. The Swedish figure represents a 68% year-over-year increase. In Norway, pure electric vehicles accounted for 98.8% of all new registrations in September, while in Sweden, they made up 49% of the total.
Tesla has reached significant cumulative milestones in the region, surpassing 200,000 deliveries in Norway and 100,000 in Denmark. Data indicates that 75% of Norwegian Tesla owners choose the brand again when replacing their vehicles. Tesla currently holds approximately 20% of the total pure electric vehicle fleet in Norway.
To address rising demand, Tesla plans to increase weekly production capacity at its Berlin Gigafactory from approximately 5,000 to 7,500 Model Y units starting in October 2026. This expansion involves hiring an additional 1,000 employees. Globally, Tesla produced over 464,000 vehicles and delivered over 486,000 units in the third quarter of 2026.
