Tesla has acknowledged a software bug in the Full Self-Driving update v14.3.9 that triggers false alerts regarding camera visibility. The system incorrectly notifies drivers that cameras are dirty or obstructed, even when they are clean, often during bright sunlight or glare.

The affected software builds, 2026.27.5 and 2026.27.6, were released around September 12. These builds also introduced the Automatic Collision Evasion feature for HW4 vehicles. The erroneous alerts frequently prompt users to schedule unnecessary service appointments.

Tesla is proactively canceling existing service appointments related to this specific software fault. The company advises owners against booking new service visits for this issue and notes that those who have already paid for inspections or cleanings can request a refund.

A follow-up update, version v14.3.10, is expected to resolve the issue. While the release notes for this upcoming version currently mirror those of v14.3.9, it is anticipated to address the sensitivity of the visibility detection system.
