Tesla has received regulatory approval to deploy its FSD (Supervised) system in Slovenia, marking the sixth European country to authorize the technology. The company confirmed the news via its official European X account, noting that the software rollout is scheduled to commence in the near future.

The approval process in Europe relies on a mutual recognition mechanism established after the Netherlands first granted vehicle certification for FSD. Following the Dutch approval, Lithuania, Estonia, Denmark, and Belgium authorized the system for public road use. Slovenia is the latest addition to this list, with the rollout requiring vehicles equipped with HW4/AI4 hardware.

Despite the expansion, Tesla faces regulatory hurdles regarding a unified EU-wide approval. France and Sweden have expressed concerns over FSD's speed control mechanisms, specifically citing the manual speed offset and dynamic speed profiles. These countries worry that the system may allow vehicles to exceed local speed limits, potentially complicating the upcoming EU vote on the technology.

Tesla continues to operate FSD in various global markets. In North America, the system launched in the US in October 2020 and Canada in March 2022, with Mexico and Puerto Rico following in February 2025. Other markets, including China, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea, have also seen deployments throughout 2025, utilizing both HW3 and HW4/AI4 hardware configurations.
