Startup Tab has exited stealth mode with a valuation of $300 million. The company was founded earlier this year by Ammar Amdani, Brennan Erb, and Stafford Schlitt. Investors backing the project include SV Angel, Valar Ventures, and American Spirit.

The Tab AI assistant is designed to perform tasks such as booking flights, managing hotel reservations, and processing documents. The software operates its own browser and can make phone calls to service providers. Users must approve all financial transactions before they are executed.

The service is currently in private beta with access restricted to a waitlist. The company emphasizes security, stating that user data is not used for AI training and that payment information is stored in a secure vault inaccessible to the firm.

The market for AI agents is expanding rapidly, with Gartner projecting spending to grow from $29.2 billion in 2026 to $65.5 billion in 2027. This sector includes competitors like Instinct, which recently reached a valuation of $10 billion, and Poke, which shares a similar valuation to Tab.
