Cal AI, founded in 2024 by 19-year-old Zach Yadegari, achieved viral growth by utilizing a network of influencers. The company generated over $30 million in revenue within two years. In March, MyFitness acquired Cal AI for an undisclosed sum.
The growth strategy relied on paying influencers to reach specific user acquisition targets. Yadegari noted that early tests showed a linear correlation between influencer posts and new user conversions. The company prioritized creators with highly engaged, quantifiable communities.
Following the exit, Yadegari launched a new AI agent startup called Persona. The company has already secured $10 million in funding. Persona aims to integrate AI assistants across various platforms, including email, messaging, and phone calls.
The founder stated that Persona plans to develop a hardware ecosystem to support its AI assistant software. The project's goal is to make computing seamless with human life by ensuring the assistant is accessible wherever there is an internet connection.
