Switch Mobility, a subsidiary of Ashok Leyland, has secured a contract to supply 840 electric buses to Antony Road Transport Solutions. The operator will deploy these vehicles for public transport in Delhi on behalf of the Delhi Transport Corporation and the local Transport Department.
The order consists of 420 nine-metre buses and 420 twelve-metre buses, acquired under the PM E-Drive Scheme from India’s Ministry of Heavy Industries. The nine-metre units are expected to be the EiV9 model, while the twelve-metre units will likely be the EiV12 low-floor variant.
The EiV9 model features a 213 kW motor and battery options of 183 kWh or 284 kWh, providing a range exceeding 200 km. The EiV12 low-floor bus is equipped with a 235 kW motor and a 283 kWh LFP battery, offering a range of up to 200 km. Both models support dual-gun fast-charging.
To date, Switch Mobility has delivered over 3,000 electric buses globally, covering more than 200 million kilometres. The company also reported sales of 1,530 electric buses and 1,600 electric light commercial vehicles in India during the 2026 fiscal year, marking growth of 238 per cent and 56 per cent respectively.
