The developer of the Telegram-based turn-based RPG Morveyn faced challenges in maintaining visual consistency when using generative AI for game assets. Creating individual images was straightforward, but combining them into a cohesive game world resulted in a disjointed visual style.

To solve this, the developer shifted from writing unique prompts for every asset to using a structured configuration approach. Prompts were divided into fixed style blocks and variable subject descriptions, ensuring that categories like character portraits and map objects followed specific compositional rules.

The developer implemented strict negative constraints to prevent the AI from adding excessive decorative elements, cinematic lighting, or photorealistic details that reduce readability at small resolutions. For map objects, a bright pink background was used to simplify post-processing and transparency removal.

The workflow also involved using reference images to maintain scale, perspective, and lighting across assets. By defining which elements of a reference should be kept and which should be replaced, the developer managed to scale the production of game assets while keeping them visually aligned.
