SpaceX is significantly expanding its computing infrastructure in Tennessee. Elon Musk announced that the number of Nvidia chips in the Colossus 2 data center will more than double by the end of 2026. The facility currently operates 110,000 GB200 and 440,000 GB300 units, with plans to add 220,000 GB300 chips next week and another 220,000 by November.

The company aims to reach a total of 1 million GPU-based accelerators at its Memphis site by year-end, with an additional 220,000 units potentially coming online in December. Meanwhile, the Colossus 1 cluster, equipped with 150,000 H100, 50,000 H200, and 30,000 GB200 chips, has been leased to the AI startup Anthropic for several years, though SpaceX retains the right to terminate the agreement.

SpaceX is actively monetizing its infrastructure through leasing. Reflection AI has booked Colossus 2, agreeing to pay approximately $6.3 billion by 2029. Additionally, a potential deal with Google could generate $30 billion by mid-2029, while Anthropic is expected to pay nearly $45 billion by that time. SpaceX also plans to deploy Nvidia-based computing satellites in orbit starting next year.
