SpaceX has secured $40 billion in debt financing, which the company intends to allocate toward the purchase of graphics processing units. Elon Musk announced the transaction on October 25, 2026, noting that the funds are primarily callable debt.

The financing package consists of approximately $10 billion in bank loans and $30 billion in investment-grade debt. The hardware is scheduled to arrive in the first and second quarters of 2027 to support AI data centers built on Nvidia technology.

Musk attributed the successful credit acquisition to the company's investment-grade rating and consistent revenue streams from Starlink and its launch operations. Apollo Global Management was expected to lead the effort, with PIMCO also cited as a potential investor.

Earlier in 2026, SpaceX completed an $86 billion IPO in June and subsequently raised $25 billion in bonds. The company plans to utilize the new computing capacity for both internal projects and external contracts.
