SpaceX has applied to expand its Roberts Road facility at the Kennedy Space Center from 167 acres to nearly 400 acres. The company plans to construct new ship static-fire stands, a Payload Processing Facility, and additional Gigabays to support the Starship program.

The proposal is currently a Draft Programmatic Environmental Assessment. Following a public comment period and final approvals, the company intends to initiate large-scale construction projects at the site.

At launch complex LC-39A, SpaceX has added two liquid methane storage tanks, bringing the total capacity to nearly 5,000 metric tons. The company also installed a reinforced roof on the tower to protect it during ship catches.

Booster 23 and Ship 43 have completed cryo-proof testing. The booster is expected to be ready for static fire in late November, while the ship is anticipated to be ready for transport to the Kennedy Space Center in early to mid-January.

SpaceX is also developing launch complexes SLC-37A and SLC-37B. While construction on the foundation for SLC-37B is underway, the facility is not expected to be operational for at least another year.
