SpaceX has secured approval from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to acquire three additional spectrum licenses from Tristar. These licenses provide 15 MHz of spectrum in the 1695–1710 MHz band, which will be integrated into the next-generation Starlink Mobile network.

The FCC authorization allows SpaceX to utilize this spectrum for satellite communications, serving as an alternative to the deployment of traditional cellular towers. This move is part of a broader strategy to combine satellite constellations with terrestrial infrastructure to eliminate coverage gaps.

This regulatory approval follows a recent agreement by SpaceX to acquire nationwide 800 MHz low-band spectrum. That acquisition is intended to enhance indoor signal penetration. The company aims to operate as a unified network providing service across various environments, including indoor and remote areas.
