The Slate electric truck prototype features a curb weight of 1,836 kg and is powered by a motor delivering 135 kW and 264 Nm of torque. The vehicle accelerates from zero to 97 km/h in 8 seconds. Its design includes a De Dion rear axle with coil springs, allowing for a cargo capacity of up to 680 kg.

The cabin is a two-seat configuration with a height of 1.7 meters. The prototype currently utilizes manual adjustments for seats, steering column, and mirrors. Climate control is managed via three physical dials on the dashboard, and the vehicle employs a column shifter for gear selection.

The prototype has logged nearly 9,656 km. It features a fixed regenerative braking system configured for one-pedal driving, which operates with high intensity at low speeds. The interior of the test unit consists of hard plastic surfaces, reflecting a utilitarian design approach.

Slate faces the upcoming challenge of transitioning from the prototype phase to mass production. The company must successfully scale its manufacturing processes to bring the vehicle to the North American market.
