BYD has officially registered its new Denza N9 electric SUV with the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The vehicle is built on the company's tri-motor e3 platform, which utilizes a single 362 horsepower front motor and two 415 horsepower rear motors. The combined output of this powertrain reaches 1,193 horsepower.

The SUV measures 5,270 mm in length, 2,030 mm in width, and 1,830 mm in height, featuring a 3,125 mm wheelbase. It will be offered in five- and six-seat configurations. The vehicle is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery produced by BYD’s subsidiary, FinDreams, though specific capacity and range figures remain undisclosed.

A notable technical specification is the vehicle's gross weight, which exceeds 3,760 kg or 8,289 lbs. This mass presents potential regulatory challenges for operation in the European Union. While EU rules allow drivers with two years of experience to operate alternative-fuel vehicles up to 4,250 kg, newer drivers would require a commercial category C1 license.
