Siemens Healthineers and NVIDIA have announced a strategic partnership to develop next-generation adaptive radiotherapy technology. The collaboration integrates medical imaging and oncology expertise with accelerated computing and simulation to streamline clinical workflows.
The companies have identified three primary development areas for adaptive radiotherapy. These include AI agents for treatment planning to assist clinicians with calculations, advanced patient simulation using digital twins to test scenarios before treatment, and real-time adaptive computing to manage patient changes during procedures.
Bernd Montag, CEO of Siemens Healthineers, stated that these initiatives aim to help healthcare providers manage clinical complexity and make informed decisions. The goal is to allow medical staff to dedicate more time to direct patient care.
Arthur Kaindl, head of the oncology business at Siemens Healthineers, noted that the partnership builds on the company's existing Accela system. The collaboration seeks to leverage AI and real-time computing to provide clinicians with faster insights and more precise, personalized treatment options.
