Siemens has expanded its partnership with Nvidia to develop AI agents for designing 3D integrated circuits. The new system, built on the Fuse EDA AI Agent and Intelligence Center X platform, automates the analysis of electrical, thermal, and power characteristics in multi-die packages.

The automated workflow integrates seven Siemens design tools, including Innovator3D IC Integrator, mPower Digital, Calibre 3DThermal, Simcenter FloTHERM, Calibre xACT, and Solido SPICE. It utilizes Nvidia Agent Toolkit, Nemotron models, and CUDA-X libraries to coordinate tasks and accelerate computations.

During a single 8–10 hour cycle, the system performs 50 to 100 analysis steps, evaluating between 200 and 500 design variations. This process allows engineers to identify constraints early, adjusting parameters such as power budgets and material combinations.

According to Siemens, this automation reduces engineering labor by up to 95% and initial setup time by up to 99%. Furthermore, the system enables the exploration of 50 times more design variations compared to traditional manual methods, shortening project timelines from weeks to days.
