Sberbank has introduced Vibe PPM, a new operational model for project, program, and portfolio management. The framework integrates AI agents directly into the management loop rather than using them as supplementary tools. Under this model, humans define objectives and acceptance criteria, while AI agents handle task execution, tool selection, and result verification.
The architecture operates through four continuous loops: intention, implementation, observation, and reflection. The observation loop identifies deviations in real-time, while the reflection loop enables the system to learn from daily performance. Critical decisions involving irreversible outcomes or stakeholder trust remain exclusively under human control.
The model functions across three levels: project, program, and portfolio, coordinated by the Vibe PMO. At the program level, agents share memory to resolve priority conflicts autonomously. At the portfolio level, continuous status tracking replaces traditional quarterly reviews, allowing for real-time scenario modeling before decisions are finalized.
Vibe PPM complements Sberbank's existing AI-driven methodologies, such as AI-Disrupt PDLC for development and AI-Disrupt PSLC for support. According to Kirill Menshov, Senior Vice President and Head of Technology at Sberbank, the initiative shifts the focus from traditional project office processes to an agent-based economic structure where AI operates within defined boundaries.
