OpsDeck, an open-source DevOps tool for managing infrastructure, has released nine updates over the past three weeks. The platform integrates terminal access, Kubernetes, SSH, databases, and notes into a single interface.
The local AI agent now performs tasks directly on hosts based on user prompts. It executes commands, reads outputs, and proceeds through multiple steps until a task is completed. Users can set access levels for each host, ranging from read-only to full execution permissions.
Security measures include a hard-coded policy engine written in Rust that prevents the execution of dangerous commands like rm, reboot, or shell interpreters. The system logs every action, including the command used, the host, and whether it was an automated or manual change.
New features include support for external OpenAI-compatible AI servers, Yandex Cloud integration via CLI, and Passbolt 5.x support. The tool also adds monitoring dashboards for Zabbix, improved file management between hosts, and enhanced terminal window handling.
The development team addressed several technical issues, including UI freezes caused by clipboard library constants and atomic configuration file writing to prevent data loss. The project now includes contributions from multiple external developers.
