Salesforce is shifting its growth strategy toward AI agents that operate outside the company's traditional interface. By utilizing its 'Headless 360' architecture, the platform allows third-party clients like Claude or Slack to access Salesforce data and functions, generating task-specific interfaces on demand.
According to research by Qualitate, which conducted 20 in-depth customer interviews, most organizations are currently in the pilot or proof-of-concept phase with Agentforce. Despite the early stage, approximately 75% of customers who have experienced or modeled the impact of headless access expect their spending on Salesforce to increase.
The company is integrating its various assets, including Data Cloud and MuleSoft’s Agent Fabric, into a unified 'enterprise AI harness.' This system connects general-purpose AI models with business-specific context, workflows, and governance, allowing agents to perform complex tasks rather than just answering questions.
Qualitate’s data indicates that about 90% of respondents are already accessing Salesforce outside its native UI or plan to do so. The primary driver for this shift, cited by seven out of eight participants, is the desire to consolidate workflows around a preferred large language model.
