Passengers at Russian railway stations consumed 5,407 TB of data via public Wi-Fi during the first nine months of 2026. This figure represents a 54% increase compared to the 3,500 TB recorded during the same period in 2025, according to TransTeleCom, the operator of the service.
The total number of Wi-Fi sessions reached 14.1 million from January to September 2026, marking a 66% rise from the 8.5 million sessions in the previous year. This growth indicates that travelers are connecting more frequently and consuming larger volumes of content while waiting for their trains.
The top five stations by data traffic volume in 2026 were Krasnodar-1 (93.6 TB), Adler (71.2 TB), Rostov-on-Don (67.9 TB), Bryansk Orlovsky (67.2 TB), and Ufa (66 TB). Southern transport hubs have overtaken Moscow's Vostochny station, which led the rankings in 2025 with 56 TB.
Adler and Krasnodar also led in the number of user sessions, recording 283,000 and 281,000 connections respectively. Other stations in the top five for session counts included Voronezh (256,000), Bryansk Orlovsky (247,000), and Orel (225,000). The operator continues to upgrade infrastructure to meet demand.
