Russian marketplaces Ozon and Wildberries face disruptions to seasonal sales due to drone attacks on their logistics infrastructure. Since mid-July 2026, Data Insight has recorded 37 incidents affecting at least 2.1 million square meters of warehouse space.
Many sellers have lost inventory and lack the working capital to restock. Marketplace terms of service have been updated to exclude compensation for goods destroyed by drone strikes, leaving many entrepreneurs without reimbursement.
Logistics data indicates a decline in activity. In July-August 2026, transport waybills dropped by 12% compared to the same period in 2025. Experts project a potential 4.6% year-over-year decline in total freight volume by the end of 2026.
Despite these challenges, marketplaces maintain that seasonal sales will proceed as planned. However, industry analysts and retailers expect a narrower selection of goods and weaker promotional activity during the upcoming holiday season.
