MegaFon has expanded its network coverage along the Irtysh and Tyumen-Omsk federal highways in the Omsk region. The project aims to improve mobile signal stability and internet speeds for travelers, implemented in collaboration with the regional Ministry of Digital Development and Communications.

Technical upgrades were completed near the Isilkul border crossing and the village of Bekishevo in the Tyukalinsky district. By deploying equipment across multiple LTE frequency bands, the operator extended the network range by 5 to 10 kilometers. Mobile internet speeds in these zones now reach up to 40 Mbps.

The Irtysh highway, spanning 1,528 kilometers, connects the Urals and Siberia, serving as a vital logistics route. The Tyumen-Omsk road remains a key part of the historic Siberian tract. These infrastructure improvements are part of a broader federal initiative to enhance connectivity across major Russian roads.

MegaFon plans to construct and modernize over 1,400 telecommunications facilities across Russia by 2031. Regional authorities are simultaneously working to eliminate the digital divide in remote settlements and expand 4G network coverage along major transport arteries.
