Rosatom has launched the RusMelt 100M, a compact 3D printer designed for metal printing using selective laser melting technology. The unit is the smallest and most affordable model in the company's series, weighing less than 800 kg. It requires no special foundation or reinforced flooring, operating from a standard power outlet.
The printer features a 100 by 120 mm build chamber, which reduces consumption of gas and metal powder. According to the manufacturer, the cost of producing a single part is 2 to 4 times lower compared to large-scale industrial machines. The device supports various materials, including stainless steel, titanium, nickel, cobalt-chrome, and aluminum.
Developed and manufactured at Rosatom's Additive Technologies Center in Moscow, the printer is intended for R&D, prototyping, and small-batch production. The company provides a full support package, including pre-tested printing modes, materials, and technical assistance, aiming to lower the barrier for entry into additive manufacturing for smaller enterprises and research institutions.
