Walmart is scaling robotics across its distribution network to enhance fulfillment and inventory management. This modernization requires suppliers to adapt their packaging, labeling, and shipping specifications to meet new infrastructure requirements, effectively shifting implementation costs onto them.
Amazon has launched two new devices under its Bee brand, acquired last year. The Bee Frontier wearable is priced at $74.99, while the Bee Eclipse phone attachment will cost $99.99. Users can access additional features through a Bee Pro subscription for $11.99 per month.
The Bee devices integrate with Amazon.com and Alexa to convert conversational data into product recommendations. This move aims to influence consumer demand at the discovery stage, as research indicates that 22% of online shoppers now initiate product searches using AI tools.
Recent data shows that approximately 132 million people have completed retail purchases with AI assistance. Both Walmart and Amazon are leveraging their respective infrastructure to control key points in the retail value chain, from physical fulfillment to consumer demand identification.
