Qwello Benelux finalized the acquisition of a majority stake in the Dutch charging infrastructure firm Groen-Eco on September 21. The Rotterdam-based company manages 720 charging units with over 1,400 charging points across more than 230 locations in the Netherlands. Groen-Eco specializes in B2B and semi-public charging, typically securing site agreements for over ten years.
The deal allows Groen-Eco to integrate Qwello’s proprietary hardware and full-stack software. Qwello, which currently operates over 18,000 charging points across Europe, gains access to Groen-Eco’s established customer portfolio and long-term site contracts. The existing management team at Groen-Eco will remain in place to oversee the next phase of growth.
While Qwello has historically focused on municipal public concessions, this acquisition shifts its strategy toward corporate and semi-public charging segments. The company maintains operations in Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, the UK, France, Spain, Poland, and Denmark. In Germany, Qwello recently secured a contract for 230 charging points in the Landkreis Harburg.
