Erlangen-based startup Quint Computing has secured €9.1 million in its initial funding round, led by Vsquared Ventures. The company also received a €2.2 million grant from the European Innovation Council Pathfinder. Additional investors include Quantonation, Nucleus Capital, Faber, Vanagon Ventures, ZOHO.VC, and Mikko Mottönen.

Founded in October 2025 by Christopher Eichler, Michael Hartmann, and Jona Stinner, the company originated from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. It is currently part of the Munich Quantum Valley. The team consists of 10 employees, with plans to expand to 40 or 50 staff members within two years.

The startup develops superconducting quantum processors with integrated error correction. The architecture aims to reduce hardware complexity and resource overhead by a factor of 100. The founders have already conducted use-case testing with industrial partners, including Bosch, BASF, and Boehringer Ingelheim.

The company faces competition from firms like Riverlane, which raised $75 million, and planqc, which secured €50 million. Quint Computing plans to deploy its processors at universities and demonstrate high-efficiency error correction. The McKinsey Quantum Technology Monitor 2026 projects the quantum market could reach $1.3 trillion to $2.7 trillion by 2035.
