QuantrolOx, a quantum computing software developer with roots at the University of Oxford, has secured €12 million in a new funding round. The investment was led by IW Capital, with participation from the European Innovation Council Fund and Transpose Capital.

The company, which maintains its headquarters in Finland, focuses on software that automates the tuning and control of quantum hardware. This technology is designed to function across various architectures to address existing bottlenecks in the sector.

The startup cites internal research demonstrating that its machine learning platform can tune quantum devices in less than 70 minutes, surpassing human performance benchmarks. The company plans to use the new capital to accelerate commercial growth and expand operations in the United States.

QuantrolOx was established by CEO Vishal Chatrath, Professor Andrew Briggs, Dr. Natalia Ares, and Chief Product Officer Dominic Lennon. Previous backers of the venture include Hoxton Ventures and Arm co-founder Hermann Hauser.
