San Francisco-based startup Blacksmith has secured $66 million in a Series C funding round, pushing its valuation to $1 billion. The round was led by Sequoia Capital, with participation from Premji Invest, Peak XV Partners, GV, and Y Combinator. This investment brings the company's total funding to $125 million.

Founded in 2024 by Aditya Jayaprakash, Aayush Shah, and Aditya Maru, Blacksmith provides automated testing services for software code. The company operates its own hardware infrastructure rather than relying on general-purpose cloud machines. It currently manages just under 10 megawatts of data center capacity in the US and Europe, with plans to increase this fivefold by 2027.

The company reports significant growth in usage, with weekly continuous integration (CI) jobs rising from 5 million in January to over 90 million. Its customer base has expanded from 800 companies during its Series A in September 2025 to over 10,000 at the time of the Series C. Annual recurring revenue has increased 17-fold over the past 13 months.

Blacksmith claims its platform allows developers to complete CI jobs twice as fast at a 60% lower cost compared to standard cloud tools. The startup intends to use the new capital to support hiring in New York and San Francisco and to expand its computing capacity to meet the rising demand for testing AI-generated code.
