Qualcomm unveiled its sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite and Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy platforms at the 2026 Snapdragon Summit. The company claims these chips are the world's fastest mobile CPUs, specifically designed to support agentic AI capabilities in next-generation flagship smartphones.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy features the Adreno Neural Fusion technology, which employs AI to assist with graphics rendering. Additionally, the platform integrates advanced professional video codecs and smart pixel control to enhance scene understanding and image processing tasks.
Both platforms are built on a 2nm process and include custom Qualcomm Oryon CPUs, Adreno GPUs, and Hexagon neural processors. These components aim to improve performance across gaming, connectivity, and AI-driven features for a wider range of flagship devices.
Senior Vice President Chris Patrick stated that the dual-platform strategy provides manufacturers with greater flexibility to integrate adaptive AI experiences. Major brands including Xiaomi, vivo, Red Magic, Redmi, OPPO, OnePlus, Motorola, iQOO, and Honor are confirmed as early adopters.
The platforms will be rolled out across various upcoming flagship devices. Qualcomm noted that specific product models, market availability dates, and retail pricing will be disclosed by the respective smartphone manufacturers in future announcements.
