Qualcomm has officially extended its global patent licensing agreement with Transsion Holdings. The new long-term contract covers both 4G and 5G mobile devices and remains in effect until the end of 2031.
John Han, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Qualcomm Technology Licensing, stated that the company has consolidated existing 4G and 5G agreements into a single long-term framework.
This deal follows a series of recent licensing activities by Qualcomm. On September 24, the company announced a renewed global patent agreement with Apple, which is scheduled to take effect on April 1, 2027.
Furthermore, on October 5, Qualcomm and Huawei entered into a comprehensive long-term patent cross-licensing agreement. This deal spans 5G, computing, artificial intelligence, and networking technologies, including a partial acquisition of Huawei's US patents by Qualcomm.
