Profound has secured $180 million in a Series D funding round, bringing its valuation to $1.8 billion. The round was co-led by Sequoia Capital and Kleiner Perkins, with participation from Lightspeed Venture Partners, Khosla Ventures, Saga Ventures, Evantic, and South Park Commons.
Founded in 2024 by James Cadwallader and Dylan Babbs, the New York-based startup has raised over $335 million in total funding. The company plans to use the new capital to open an applied-AI research facility in San Francisco to study how frontier models handle marketing tasks.
The platform offers an analytics dashboard that tracks brand mentions across ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity using over two billion user prompts. Its AI Marketer tool uses sub-agents to draft content, conduct research, and manage paid campaigns via the Ads Studio, which integrates with OpenAI, Google, and Meta.
The startup operates within the generative engine optimization market, which was valued at approximately $1 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach $17 billion by 2034. Profound reports that its revenue has tripled over the last six months.
