Oracle is addressing the future threat of quantum computing by integrating quantum-resistant security measures into its database infrastructure. Vipin Samar, senior vice president of software engineering at Oracle, highlighted that attackers may currently intercept and store encrypted traffic to decrypt it once quantum technology advances. To mitigate these risks, the company is focusing on securing data at the source.
The company introduced Cryptographic Posture Assessment within Oracle Data Safe. This tool scans database fleets to identify vulnerabilities, such as outdated TLS 1.0 and 1.1 protocols. Additionally, Oracle is testing agentic AI-driven remediation, currently available in preview, to automate the process of strengthening security configurations across enterprise systems.
Oracle also utilizes Deep Data Security in its Oracle AI Database 26ai to manage access at the row and column levels. This feature employs signed OAuth2 tokens to verify user identities behind AI agent queries. By treating AI as a standard application accessing data, Oracle aims to eliminate potential bypasses and maintain consistent security protocols across its database environments.
