Tech publication NeoWin recently shared a guide on optimizing Windows 11 startup performance. The report highlights that running numerous applications simultaneously at login often causes system lag, particularly on lower-end hardware.
Microsoft does not provide a native 'delayed startup' feature in Windows 10 or 11. To manage resource allocation, users can manually configure non-essential applications to launch after a specific delay using the built-in Task Scheduler.
The process involves disabling automatic startup for specific apps in the system settings first. Users then create a new task in the Task Scheduler, setting the trigger to 'At log on' and configuring the 'Delay task for' option to wait for one or two minutes.
Finally, users must specify the application's executable file path within the 'Start a program' action. This method allows essential system services and the desktop environment to load fully before secondary software begins running.
