OpenAI has launched ChatGPT for Financial Services, a specialized workspace designed for investment bankers and equity researchers. The platform integrates the GPT-6 Astra model with premium financial data from providers including LSEG News, PitchBook, Daloopa, Crunchbase, and Quartr.
The product allows finance teams to conduct research, build financial models, and generate client-facing documents. OpenAI indexed this data directly on its infrastructure to improve retrieval accuracy and enable granular citations, allowing users to verify figures against original sources.
Morgan Stanley and Evercore acted as design partners for the project. The platform builds on existing ChatGPT Enterprise security protocols, such as encryption and role-based access, and allows compliance teams to export workspace logs for audit purposes.
In addition to built-in datasets, firms can connect their existing subscriptions to services like FactSet, S&P Global, Preqin, and Datasite. OpenAI plans to expand the tool to further areas of financial services and continue training models on additional datasets.
