European space firm Open Cosmos has raised €300 million to scale its satellite manufacturing and service deployment. The funding round involved a wide group of investors, including ETF Partners, Lightrock, BCI, ICF, Entrepreneurs First, Convex, NSSIF, Phoenix Court, and Claret Capital Partners.
The company operates four factories in Europe with a production capacity of one satellite per day. It plans to use the new capital to expand its ConnectedCosmos, OpenConstellation, and DataCosmos divisions. These units focus on broadband communications, shared satellite infrastructure, and data processing.
Open Cosmos intends to grow its engineering, manufacturing, and software teams across its existing locations in the UK, Spain, Portugal, and Greece. The company currently employs nearly 400 people across these regions to support its government and commercial clients.
The firm noted that global venture capital investment in the space sector reached $11.3 billion in the first half of 2026. This figure surpasses the $10.1 billion recorded throughout the entirety of 2025, highlighting the rising demand for sovereign satellite capabilities.
