Nvidia senior vice president Jeff Fisher officially denied rumors regarding the discontinuation of the GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card. During a recent visit to Taiwan, Fisher stated that the model remains a critical component of the company's GeForce lineup and will continue to be supplied to the market.
The clarification follows speculation that Nvidia had halted production of the RTX 5090 to prioritize the GB202 graphics processors for the professional RTX PRO series. Reports also suggested that the RTX 5080 with 24 GB of video memory might replace the current flagship, but these claims were dismissed by the executive.
Fisher emphasized the strategic importance of the gaming division and the GeForce business for Nvidia. He noted that the company would not exist in its current form without this segment. The statement was made during an event in Taipei dedicated to the launch of RTX Spark.
Despite these assurances, the availability of the RTX 5090 remains uncertain. The card is currently missing from the official Nvidia online store, and major retailers like Micro Center have removed it from their listings. The specific reasons for these supply chain issues or distribution gaps remain undisclosed.
