A shipment containing Nvidia RTX 5090 graphics cards has vanished at a Brazilian airport. The cargo, consisting of two pallets of hardware, was reported missing by a local distributor. The company stated that the acquisition cost of the lost goods amounts to BRL 2,500,000.

While the exact number of units remains unconfirmed, estimates suggest at least 63 GPUs were taken. This calculation is based on the local retail price of BRL 33,999.99 per Zotac Gaming GeForce RTX 5090 unit listed at the retailer Promotech. The distributor has yet to receive any explanation regarding the disappearance.

The incident occurs amidst a global shortage of the RTX 5090, which has been difficult to source since mid-September. High-value hardware shipments have become frequent targets for theft, with previous cases involving the hijacking of AI hardware and the theft of trailers falsely marked with Nvidia branding.
