Nvidia is expanding its Hyperion computing platform across Europe, with major automakers including Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, and Volvo Cars utilizing the technology. The platform provides a unified hardware base and sensor suite, which companies can pair with Nvidia’s Alpamayo software stack or their own proprietary code to develop autonomous vehicles, ranging from robotaxis to freight trucks.
Bolt has announced plans to deploy at least 25,000 Level 4-capable Lucid vehicles across Europe using the Alpamayo stack. The company intends to begin data collection in Madrid in 2027, pending regulatory approval, with Germany identified as the next market for expansion. Meanwhile, Einride is integrating Hyperion with its own software and Nvidia’s Cosmos world models to advance its autonomous freight trucking solutions.
To support safety validation, Nvidia introduced the Halos Safe system, designed to generate traceable safety evidence for regulators. Developed in collaboration with partners like dSpace, IVEX, and TÜV Rheinland, the system covers development stages from Level 2 driver assistance to Level 4 automation. The initiative includes industry participants such as Jaguar Land Rover, AVL, and Synopsys to standardize testing and performance monitoring.
