Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang addressed recent market concerns regarding a potential memory chip surplus by 2029. During an interview at the GTC conference in Berlin, Huang stated that the industry is unlikely to face an oversupply of memory chips, emphasizing that demand for these components remains robust.
Huang highlighted the ongoing importance of High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) for Nvidia's future operations. He noted that Nvidia was the first company to integrate mobile LPDDR memory into data centers, which significantly improved energy efficiency compared to existing market alternatives.
The executive's comments follow a period of volatility for memory chip stocks. Market sentiment was negatively impacted by a column published on October 15 in a South Korean media outlet, which warned of a potential market downturn and intense competition by 2029 due to increased supply.
